All these people that think having clubs that are 0.25” longer and 1 degree upright is ‘essential’... do y’all like play exclusively at a driving range? If the ball is the tiniest bit above or below your feet (as it is on 99% of shots on the actual course), do you instantly just shit the bed?

I mean... thought experiment. You can choke down on the club by 2” to take a few yards off. It’s a recommended if you’re between clubs. So now what happened to your perfect specs? How do you think that affects your posture and the lie angle? How about the swing weight? How about the amount of flex you’re going to feel? If all the tiny fitting details mattered that much, why do people hit it better when they choke down rather than worse?
